Sharing Voices, Cultivating Stories
Glynwood is pleased to announce the launch of a new short-term writer’s residency at our farm and facility in New York’s Hudson Valley and invite you to apply. We offer short-term residencies to writers and journalists who wish to write about food and farming issues in the region. Proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and selected by peer review.
The goal of our residency program is to engage storytellers around myriad topics inherent in a region that is striving toward a more resilient food system. We are seeking authors, journalists and columnists for one to two week residencies on our property near Cold Spring, NY. During their stay, writers will produce articles or essays that highlight the food, farming and environmental challenges and triumphs that are unique to the Hudson Valley. We invite fresh, original and objective ideas and perspectives. Content can be in the form of op-eds, nonfiction features, interviews, profiles or editorial blog entries.
Glynwood is on the grounds of a former estate, with multiple buildings and residencies. Our Hudson Highlands locale is scenic, peaceful and inspiring. 1920s refinement blends with 1790s pastoral, boasting views of woodlands, lakes and rolling hay fields, and across the Hudson River towards Bear Mountain. Guided by the highest standards of ecosystem, soil, animal and community well-being, we are a teaching venue for new-entry farmers and a testbed for regenerative agricultural practices.
The application period for the Writer’s Residency program is now closed. Please check back for updates.
