Virtual Career Fair and Hudson Valley Apprenticeship Info Session
Are you interested in farming in the Hudson Valley next season? Join us to learn more about the Hudson Valley Apprenticeship!
Apprentices in The Hudson Valley Apprenticeship (HVA) receive a combination of hands-on farm experience at one of five farms across the region, complemented by paid classroom-based workshops and trainings. This focused curriculum emphasizes practical skill-building for aspiring professional farmers. Positions vary by host farm, but generally run from spring (March/April/May) through fall (September/October/November). Some host farms do offer winter work starting in December.
Participating farms for the 2023 season include Ecological Citizen’s Project at Longhaul Farm (Garrison / Putnam County), Maple View Farm (Poughquag / Dutchess County), Phillies Bridge Farm Project (New Paltz / Ulster County), and Rise & Root Farm (Chester / Orange County), as well as Glywood (Cold Spring / Putnam County).
Join us to learn more about the Hudson Valley Apprenticeship and to network with farm manager-mentors on Thursday, November 10 from 4-5pm. Each farm manager-mentor will share a brief overview of their farm and apprentice opportunities, followed by breakout sessions for Q&A.
