Judith LaBelle, PresidentSend Me an E-Mail

An attorney by trade, Judith has over 25 years' experience with environmental issues, land conservation, real estate and tax-exempt organizations. She has served as corporate counsel to the National Audubon Society and deputy director and counsel to the New York State Commission on the Adirondacks in the Twenty-First Century. In 1990, the Graduate School of Design at Harvard named her a Loeb Fellow in advanced environmental studies.

Judith became the founding President of Glynwood in 1995.

With a J.D. from New York University School of Law—and an M.A. in political science from Rutgers—Judith co-authored Rehabilitating Older and Historic Buildings: Law, Taxation, Strategies (John Wiley & Sons) and has written and spoken widely on land conservation and other topics.

Ken Kleinpeter, Director of Farm and Facilities Send Me an E-Mail

Ken has overall responsibility for the physical plant (farm, gardens, buildings, grounds and infrastructure) of Glynwood Center. Ken was a founding partner in the first integrated sheep dairy and cheese-making operation in the United States, and later managed the Old Chatham Sheepherding Company. He also served as Director of the Farm and Genetics Center for the Heritage Breeds Conservancy.

Ken has a B.A. in Journalism from Louisiana State University

Virginia Kasinki, Director of Community-Based ProgramsSend Me an E-Mail

Virginia develops Glynwood's training programs and community support initiatives, which are offered at the Center and in communities. Virginia has been in the lead in the development of the Keep Farming program.

Before joining Glynwood, Virginia served as the executive director of a national volunteer organization. She holds a B.S. degree from Pratt Institute, an M.S. from Purdue University, and an M.S.W. from Fordham University.

 Jill Rubin, Program ManagerSend Me an E-Mail

Jill manages programs related to Glynwood’s Agricultural Initiative including the Speaker Series, the Harvest Awards, and continuing efforts to build a regional food system in the Hudson Valley.

Jill has a double master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Urban & Regional Planning and Environmental Studies.  Her focus in both degrees was community food systems and sustainable agriculture.  Jill has worked extensively with farmers in Wisconsin and Massachusetts on initiatives to create local and state policies and support regional food systems and sustainable agriculture.  She also spent a season as an apprentice on an organic farm.  Jill received a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies.from Swarthmore College.

Whitey Williams, Farm Manager

Whitey manages all operations on Glynwood's working farm, including livestock care and feeding, equipment servicing, fencing construction and maintenance, haying and silage, road work, and lawn care. He worked on his father's Pennsylvania farm as a young boy and has been with Glynwood Farm since 1972.

Dave Llewellyn, Head Gardener Send Me an E-Mail

Dave has overall responsibility for horticulture at Glynwood, and will concentrate on expanding our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.  Dave trained in sustainable agriculture at the Massachusetts Audubon Society's Drumlin Farm and managed organic vegetable gardens for Heifer International's Overlook Farm for several years.  Before coming to Glynwood, he and his wife Carolyn ran a CSA business that they founded.   

Dave has a B.A. in Political Science from Susquehanna University.

Lise Serrell, Gardener Send Me an E-Mail

Lise is trained in urban garden design and permaculture, and holds a horticulture certificate from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, where she also completed an internship.  Lise completed a 9-month garden internship at Glynwood just prior to joining the staff.  She comes from the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and pursued a dance career in New York City before becoming a horticulturalist. 

Isabel Lopatin, Manager of Administration & TechnologySend Me an E-Mail

Isabel handles many aspects of the administration of Glynwood Center, as well as its technological systems. Before joining Glynwood she worked as a database consultant for several Fortune 100 companies in and around New York City.

Isabel attended Marlboro and Bard Colleges, and holds an M.B.A. from Binghamton University, where she specialized in both Management Information Systems and Arts Administration.
