A raised bed of
lavender that explodes into fragrant bloom. A rock garden graced by
a weeping Japanese maple. Splashes of color from the quince orchard,
the rose garden, the towering hedges of mountain laurel. Bright
green rows of vegetables waiting to be harvested.
For decades,
gardeners have worked their magic in Glynwood's soil and we continue
to enhance that tradition. The result is an array of gardens—
sustainably maintained —that not only please the eye, but advance
the mission of Glynwood Center as well.
Produce from the
gardens is featured in the meals we serve on site; some is provided
to local families through our new Community Supported Agriculture
program; some is supplied to local restaurants that feature regional
cuisine. Flowers from the garden grace the buildings during events.
For guests and staff alike, it is a living example of our commitment
to sustainable agriculture and locally grown food.
