See the progress on Glynwood's new barn!

This spring Glynwood started construction on a new barn – a barn that will be much more than four wide walls and one very large roof -- because this barn will be central to the mission of Glynwood Farm.

You see, the mission of Glynwood Farm is to test, innovate, and teach techniques that demonstrate the economic viability of environmentally sustainable farming. Our farm is also a model of adapting old farms to new local, market opportunities.  All of this contributes to Glynwood’s larger mission of saving farming in the Northeast.

Our new livestock barn will enable us to better shelter, feed, and care for the health of our livestock during winter – and come spring, it will be a birthing center for calves, lambs, and kids.  This will mean that we can expand our flocks and more effectively rear them to maturity, resulting in much more fresh, pasture-fed, humanely-raised meat for our community.

We are on schedule for our completion date of June 6, when we’ll hold our Community Barn Raising Party, open to the public.  We hope you can join us!
